Welcome to Episode 2 of Monday Moments.

 

Today I want to talk to you about choosing a Realtor®.

 

How do many of you choose a Realtor® to help with your purchase and/or the sale of your home? Do you pick one from a sign you saw on someone's lawn? Or, do large billboards on the highway or on the side of a bus determine your agent of choice? Or, do you look for recommendations from friends and family? None of these ways are wrong. As Realtors®, we all like to stand out in a crown, so we all have different ways of marketing.

 

It is important in the largest transaction of your life; buying or selling real estate, to KNOW, LIKE AND TRUST who you have chosen to help in this journey.

 

KNOW: How do you get to know a realtor?

• Sit down for coffee
• Interview an agent or two
• Ask questions. Ask a LOT of questions.
• Find out if your values are complimentary to each other
• Find out if your ways of communicating are complimentary to each other
• Find out what individual services they offer to ensure a smooth transaction
• How are they going to go above and beyond for YOU?

Get to KNOW your Realtor® Once you get to know them, do you LIKE them?

 

LIKE: Like is an important thing because you may be spending a lot of time with your agent. Some transactions can be as short as 2 days and others may take months depending on market conditions. If you're a BUYER looking for that perfect home, it's important that the Realtor® is on side with your expectations, your dreams and your choices. Many SELLERS look for the Realtor® that charges the least amount for listing your home. This is often not the best choice for the SELLER. If price is what you pay and value is what you get, how much value are you going to get from the cheapest agent? If you LIKE your agent, the next step, TRUST, will follow along easily beside you.

 

TRUST: Once you KNOW and LIKE your Realtor®, do you trust them to do the job competently?

• Check out their Google® reviews
• Go onto their website
• Get opinions of others who have used their services
